Experience UFIP

Step inside the stories, people and moments that shape our community.

Every programme, shared meal, film, photograph and conversation tells part of UFIP’s story. Explore life inside the Unity Hub and meet the people creating a more connected Glasgow.

Welcome Inside

Behind every programme is a person. Behind every moment is a story.

Inside UFIP is where we share the people, creativity, conversations and everyday moments that bring our organisation to life.

Walk through the doors of the Unity Hub and you may find children creating films, volunteers preparing a community event, women gathering for wellbeing activities, families sharing food or community members helping shape new research.

This page brings those experiences together through film, photography, interviews, project stories and glimpses behind the scenes.

Community Giants
Community Giants

Ordinary people. Extraordinary impact.

Community Giants celebrates the people whose everyday actions create meaningful change across Glasgow’s diverse communities.

Through interviews and personal stories, the series recognises volunteers, organisers, advocates, creatives and local leaders whose work may not always make headlines, but whose impact is felt deeply by others.

“Real community leadership is often found in the people who keep showing up, helping others and creating change without seeking recognition.”

Research in Action

Turning community knowledge into meaningful change

UFIP’s research work begins with the people whose experiences are too often missing from formal studies, services and public conversations.

Through participatory research, interviews, group discussions, creative documentation and shared learning, community members contribute knowledge about the issues affecting their everyday lives.

This approach ensures that research is not simply carried out about communities. It is developed with them, shaped by their priorities and shared in ways that can influence practice, partnerships and future decisions.

Community-led People help shape the questions and priorities.
Experience-centred Lived knowledge is treated as valuable evidence.
Collaborative Learning is shared with partners and participants.
Action-focused Findings support practical community change.

What people say about UFIP

The strongest measure of our work is not found only in reports or statistics. It is reflected in the experiences of the people who participate, volunteer and become part of our community.

UFIP gave me confidence again. I met people who genuinely cared, learnt new skills and realised I had something valuable to offer.

Programme Participant Glasgow

The volunteers welcomed us from the moment we arrived. It felt like joining a family rather than attending a project.
